Did anyone else think that militarily they probably should have sacrificed Galactica (older, less well armed, no viper production facilities) instead of Pegasus?

Though I guess you really couldnt destroy the series namesake..

Yeah, that's what I always thought but you can't really have a show called Battlestar Galactica without a Battlestar Galactica.

The whole "see what you can do about their engines" was just stupid. Even the Enterprise D couldn't easily take out a ships engines or weapons without doing damage to surrounding systems and just look at some of the TOS or Kirk era movie battles, no selective fire there!
Yup the flight of the Enterprise above the Xindi Weapon was probably my favourite shot I didn't watch almost any TNG episodes but I guess that you can't get much worse overall than Ent's 1st and 2nd season (save for a few episodes like the Broken Bow, Shockwave and Fortunate Son).
When it comes to the "engines" part I think that the writers wanted too many "run away" scenarios so they had to come up with that

i liked enterprise. im not a pure trekkie, but it was entertaining, and a somewhat plausible slightly-futuristic "prequal" setting. But i think Archer should have been a little more aggressive. If someone shoots you to kill, shoot back, and hell with the consequences. it should have been an "us vs them" policy, ie kirks cowboy diplomacy combined with Picards "Straight A" record....
