hmmm...interesting, shame one of the producers said that they are still planning to do yet another season after the 22 ep run of season 4....and that Ed Olmos has a tendancy to say "this is the end" alot

We all knew Season 4 would likely be the last. We only *just* got a season 4 anyway. Be grateful.

Apparently its not official after all, since David Eick denies that there has been any decision made yet. Knowing Sci-Fi, even if it does end after season 4 there will be telemovies to follow.

I don't get the "soap opera" accusations at all. I can't see any sign of this drastic "change" people go on about.

Edward James Olmoes made a statement about this was the end of the series. However just after David Eick posted a blog stating that if indeed it was the end he and RDM would tell you. So As of right now Season 4 is not the end of BSG

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...ory=2&id=41457

Battlestar Galactica's search for Earth continues to be an open-ended adventure, executive producer David Eick said.

Contrary to comments by Edward James Olmos (Adm. Adama) at the Saturn Awards on May10, no end has been announced for the award-winning show. Battlestar Galactica is preparing to film its fourth season, one that will include 22 episodes, rather than the previously announced 13.

"For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show's end," chuckled Eick. "I promise you that when [executiuve producer] Ron [Moore] and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know."

Meh as has been poitned out, the producers said thisisn't necessarily true and they don't know yet, but they've also said they may or may not end at season4 as they don't know if they can fit the rest of the story in it, but if they don't there will be a season 5 of sorts.

Either way, I don't care if it ends at S4, I love BSG, but as a show it needs to end, I hate shows that go on and on and never end(like lost), better end the current story there, then possibly start another BSG universe story after, maybe shorter maybe longer, maybe paralell to the current story, or maybe after they reach earth. Maybe a story from the first cylon war or something inbetween (personally that'd probably be too boring for me, I wnt my scifi to have action and explosions)

U all need to asked a serious question. How long can a show about people looking for a planet last realy?...another season will already be a strech when you think they had to included so much drama in season 3 to actually come up with 20 something episodes. Season 4 will have less budjet then season 3, wich had less budjet then season 2. So don't expect as much Sci-Fi stuff as we did in Season 1 and 2 realy.

the 2 first seasons worked and had good ratings because it was a mix of all incredible stuff, good writting, good action, and character development. Season 3 rating took a dive because they removed the action aspect basicaly out of the show for most episodes.

When you love a pet, loosing it is like loosing a part of your soul. I lost part of mine on Feb 12 2008. Never will it be the same again.

Need to agree with al on this one, don't get me wrong I love BSG though it's no longer my favourite series on tv (Heroes now has that title). I'll be glad if it finished at the end of the 4th season, just as long as the writers know this from the very begining! The worst thing that could happen is if they planned for a 5th and season 4 got cancelled halfway through forcing the writers to rush a conclusion to the whole thing! (like what happened on Angel and on Enterprise). If they keep dragging out the search for Earth it won't belong until Starbuck jumps the shark!
