Shows That Shouldn't Have Been Axed!

Watched an episode of Now and Again last night and wondered why the hell did this get canceled so early on? Got me thinking about other great shows that have been canceled before there time so I thought we could have a simple thread on our top 5 shows that got canceled when they shouldn't of! Make a list and explain why!

Here's mine in no particular order...

Firefly - Nuff said really

Now and Again - A great little series with a really good cast and a good script, just wasn't given time to flourish into a TV spectacle!

Twin Peaks - With out this there would be no X-files, Northern Exposure or Lost! Granted with the second series was not as good as the first but it's still a hell of a lot better than most things on TV back then and at moment!

Arrested Development - One of, if not the funniest shows on TV! Makes me laugh every time I watch it! The comic timing from all the cast is just perfect!

Angel - A worthy successor to Buffy if not better in some ways! Much better than the last few seasons of Buffy! and just as they changed the dynamic, introduced spike, culled a few cast members and gets the highest viewing figures for the series, they have to go and cancel it forcing them to try and tie up 8 years of story build up and continuity into 3 episodes!

Why I ask you when shows like this get axed, shows such as Charmed and Andromeda survive? Why? It's truly a crazy world we live in!

"Supposedly Cousteau and his cronies invented the idea of putting walkie-talkies into the helmet. But we made ours with a special rabbit ear on the top so we could pipe in some music". - Steve Zissou

Enterprise: Last season was the best of all, really got their act together.

Over There: A quaility show, even if your not american.

Justice League and Xmen cartoons: lol, best shows ever.

Not so much a 'shouldnt have been axed' as much as they didn't think it would be axed, but i'd liked to have known how they planned the Blade series to go.

But where do all the calculators go?

Ain't nothin' over till it's over.

Space: Above and Beyond
Do I really need to say more?

Firefly
Great show, great premise, great actors and of course TPTB who wouldn´t recognise a clue even if it bit them in the a$$.

Crusade
Initially TPTB tried to screw with it whenever they could and when the show finally got down to talk business the manipulated first half of the season had already poisoned the well.

Legend Of The Rangers
I´m sure we all agree the "weapons chamber" was a true FUD but it would´ve been interesting to see where a full season would have went.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Somebody blow something up, I'm in a really bad mood. Thanks in advance.
Current project: Star Trek - Odyssey

DS9, killed off at 7 seasons so it wouldnt outshine TNG, and denied movies because "they wouldnt be economically viable", instead we get insurection and nemisis, thanks B&B.

The adventures of Brisco Country Jr, if you havent heard of it, look it up.

Space above and beyond, if it were around today there might have been at least a tv movie to tie up the loose ends.

Family guy/futurama, stupid fox, at least they had the sence to bring them back when DVD sales went through the roof.

Over There is quite possibly one of the most unrealistic shows I've ever seen. It tried to cram too much drama into such a small unit.

Firefly and S;AAB top my list of things I wish didn't get cut.

Crusade sucked balls and we all know it. But I place blame for that on the producers and not JMS. The new B5 movie should prove to be pretty interesting.

As for Trek....well, let's just say the worst things to happen to it were B&B. Ron Moore and co. did a good job of resurrecting Enterprise, but it was too little too late.

Space above and Beyond - The acting wasn't always great but there was so little crap, it was good solid narrative all the way through and the characters developed and weren't 'reset' at the beginning of each episode.

Firefly - With the canning of Angel and this I think someone had something against Joss Whedon because I can't think of a reason to spam both shows other than fubar management.

Trek - It died after DS9 really, Voy is cool but it was saved by 7of9 and not because of her characters leet hacker skills. Then it got better but let's face it the first episode was pretty dire and I thought a little too coincidental even for Trek. B&B sucked and for some reason either no-one could see it in the management or they were just dug in too deeply and wanted their meal tickets to life with eternal wealth.

Do it well or not at all.

Ron was doing BSG at the time. I think you mean Manny Coto.

Firefly . . . COME ON! How do the suits rationalize canceling it? It should be it its fourth or fifth season by now . . .
