A Public Apology to Al3d and to SFM - Scifi-Meshes.com

Hello all,

Many of you no doubt witnessed the recent blow-up between myself and Alain Rivard, AKA Al3d. My behavior in that situation was unacceptable, and I would like to take this opportunity to make amends in whatever small way I can.

First, to Alain: I apologize for being rude, hostile, and generally nasty towards you during our recent exchange. I had no right to engage in personal name-calling, especially not using profanity as I did. I did not treat you with the respect you deserve. Again, I apologize. You are a very talented artist whose abilities I continue to admire greatly. When it comes to sheer creative skill, I consider you to be among the very best at SFM. Sincerely.

Second, to the Sci-Fi Meshes community at large: I apologize for participating in the very ugly spectacle of one SFM staff-member personally attacking another with insults and foul language. This community deserves better than to have its leaders behave in a way that sets anything but the highest example for courteous and professional conduct. I failed to live up to the standards that are rightly expected of SFM staffers. Again, I apologize.

Please note, I am doing this of my own free will, not at the suggestion of any mods or admins, and not as part of any "punishment" for my recent conduct. Nor is this part of some campaign to reverse the recent decisions of the Admins. I try to make it a point to recognize my own failings, admit them when I see them, and work to correct them. I offer no spin, no claims of being "misinterpreted" or "taken out of context." I'm not a politician. During that argument I was, plainly and simply, an unmitigated jackass and fool. There is no other way to describe my conduct.

Again, I apologize.

I did not send this apology to Alain via PM because my insults against him were public, so it was only fitting that my apology be public as well.

I think this is very big of you Jedilaw, doing this in public rather than sending a pm to Alain. And i do hope that he accepts the Apology.
