The IPhone feels more and more like science fiction!

I just discovered that its about to come out soon and I found a link to see it and I was amazed with the new top of the line technology that goes in it. Its amazing how far we've got from now and closer to today's scifi we are, the fact that one small phone can replace your familly computer its getting a bit scary but awsome. I personaly would like to get one of those but the price is around 600$ and, don't take it out of me, but it seems it might only work on a specific network. Here is the link to a nice little presentation Apple made to show off their little new gadget!

I wouldn't say we're getting closer to todays sci-fi or any sci-fi. We're getting closer in many respects but are nowhere near other aspects. Space 1999 said we'd have moon colonies 8 years ago but we're further from going back there than we were in the 60s... yet Star Trek said personal organisers would be the size of medium encyclopedias by the 23rd century but now they're the size of watches. (obvious and common examples, I know, but it's still interesting to look at what turned out to be right and what turned out to be wrong.)

I'm sure it'll still sell well regardless of the price. The iPod did. All because Apple stuck an "i" infront of something that already existed and packaged it with a plush funky advert.

for $599 I'd rather have a Ps3

Some info on the Iphone .Two models of the phone will be available: a $499 version with 4 gigabytes of memory and another model, which will retail for $599 and have 8 gigabytes of memory. Not 80gigs...8 also the phone service is with AT&T and you must get a two year plan.

I am not a huge Ipod persons. I hate that I have to use itunes. I rip all of my mp3 and I would like to drag and drop them to the player. But I do love the look and "Ipod" that is in the Iphone. This is something that people do not see about apple. They will have most people go out and buy this before selling an ipod with the same feature. So they can make double the money. I think alot of people will get one..Just to say that I got a Iphone..Then they will say..hey I got an Iphone its was $600 and it is the same size a my nano. I stuck with this **** service. Again cool toy, but too many cons then pros. :/

Why couldnt they just make a fullscreen ipod? I would buy that, but all the phone crap just adds more $$$. I would replace my 80gb one with an 80gb fullscreen, but not an 8gb phone

I'm guessing Apple haven't made a fullscreen iPod yet because they've been looking closely at Archos and have come to the conclusion that about three people in the known world have actually paid money for a Portable Media Player.

I personally think they're completely pointless. Where do they stay? Your pocket. right. Makes it kind of hard to watch videos really...

iPhone is an interesting concept- will be interesting to see how Sony Ericsson reacts, remember they already have a Touchscreen 4GB music phone on the market, and it's rather good.

Of course, more competition is great for the consumer.

I'm waiting for the nex iPod. I'm sure it will have all the bells and whistles of the iPhone minuse the phone contract and cell phone technology, which I wouldn't really want in the first place.

The iPhone comes out on June 29th, my birthday. COINCIDENCE?

I'm curious as to how the screen holds up against smug marks and fingernail scratches.
