AVP 2 So it looks like this is really happening

Found this on the web.

IT's not being directed by Paul Anderson so I dunno how good it's gonna be, he really did a great job with the first one. The stor seems a weak IMHO, there's no isolation factor that I can see.

The setting is some small rural town which yeah ok in the boonies is isolated for humans but for Preds and Aliens there's no barriers to keep this from spilling into the rest of the world population. I mean what's to stop the Aliens from just cutting out and running to the nearest city and starting a new hive, then you have Preds blasting their way in to hunt them and probably humans too.The whole thing would fall aprt rather quick.

Typically the settings for aliens has been a remote location that keeps them isolated to the point of zero migration, wether it be a ship, 2000 feet under a block of ice or a smelting facility on a barren rock, generally there's nothing to attract their attention away from their current local food supply, but you put them in a wooded area with all kinds of food besides humans, their gonna sread fairly quick and without any kind of boundry that impairs their movement...well to quote a famous soldier it..."Game Over Man!!"

Anyway what do you guys think.

Simon Abrams: Ok...These things are seriously impairing my ability to think rationally.
Dana Crutchfield: What?

It doesn't make it clear whether its current or future - shame. The rural township idea is roughly what they had in the original Trade Paperback - would have been nice to see something like that - the story seems comparable.

If hope that the apparent lack of such an environment or more hype (taking into account that its meant to be in post for a Jan 2008 release) does not mean that we are looking at a low-budget franchise killer.

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.

Think I saw a list recently of films in production at the Vancouver film studios, and avp2 was on it...

Last I read two guys are directing it and they want an R rating. That's atleast a step up.

Let's hope there are no more five-minute incubations or chestbursters turning into full-blown warriors in 30 seconds flat.

Oh yea! Yet another sequel to a movie that sucked...I never understood why AVP was not done on the story line of the original Dark Horse comic. That story rocked and it being set in the Alien universe was just kick ass. They really screwed up with this franchise.
