| W00T! My IQ is up to 96! | Mandatory Looksee! Too cool for words... k, don't hit me! had to bait y'all in here to see this: Leopard's new secret features finally revealed! Watch the demo videos for at least these three new features: 1) Desktop 2) Quick Look 3) Finder Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Features Mac's are getting the greatest makeover yet.. unbelievably cool. Not to mention the ability to browse remote files as if they were local (other than the speed of course LOL). Safari is now faster than even FireFox---and by two times! And, Safari now runs on Windows too... Lots of workflow improvements.. |
| New Setup: Mac Pro 3.2 GHz 8-core (25.6 GHz), 16 GB RAM, Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.3, Maya + Pixar's RenderMan, 2560x1600 30" Samsung Monitor = Heaven. Is it worth it? Yes; it's actually cheaper than an equivalently-configured Dell.... swchweet. | |

| And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. Am I the only one bothered by memory devouring desktop displays and an almost complete rejection of function in the name of flash? I don't need glazed buttons and a fat, ugly graphic ribbon; I need menu bars and tabs. We're speeding towards LCARS at a dangerous pace. Just because you can make a flashy graphic interface doesn't mean that you have to, just because a computer has speed and memory doesn't mean it needs to be eaten up. All this does is remind me why I don't have a Mac. Little Content Albeit Rich Styling. L.C.A.R.S. |

| W00T! My IQ is up to 96! | Actually.. the core animation platform handling these graphics is quite efficient. But as always, you can expect evolutions to gobble up more memory---and that's ok, because today's hardware can support it. If you're a fundamentalist, there's always UNIX by command-line only for GUI-free memory efficiency ![]() And another thing... Windows lovers should now get Macs, because they're still running native Windows (no emulation) if they install Windows on their Mac.. there' nothing to lose and everything to gain because you'll have access to both OSes instead of just one, anytime you want either. And Apple hardware is good quality and fairly priced, so at least your Vista laptop will look cool physically being a MacBook Pro Then, you can explore Mac OS X at your leisure while continuing to use Windows if you prefer it.. or never boot into Mac OS X again should that be your wish. Either way, it's win-win. |
