About Atlantis from the episode "Progeny" - Scifi-Meshes.com

I was watching the episode "Progeny" and when the Asuran city ship went to hyperspace I saw the big hole around the control tower. Does anyone now anything about it or why it's there?

From what I know, this city was made that different to show that Lanteans do not construct objects with similiar purpose with similiarm shape.

But why they do that I'm not sure.

The Asuran city did look exactly like Atlantis as you know, so it would serve the same purpose, right? I was surprised that there was a big hole in the city when in the first place since it looked like that part was solid with all those towers around the central tower.

Maybe the result of a malfuction in the shields system? Or an explosion?

You can say whatever you want, the Lanteans might have been a great race, but even they surely did mistakes.

the hole's just a design thing thats part of the Atlantis city model [spoiler] [spoiler]. Nothing of real relevance. its just...there....

Personally i think its were everyone goes to pee. seriously, one uber techy city and not ONE toilet!

Atlantis has that big hole in it too, if you watch the season 3 finale you'll see it a few times.

Take a look at the pilot. In the sequence with Atlantis leaving earth i'm sure you see something left on the ice as the city takes off...
