What's the Mac for me?

Basically I just don't know what to go for.

I ain't goin' for a mac book or a mini mac, so any of the others (under £2000, plus I get the student discount ) are in the ball park. What do y'all suggest?

But where do all the calculators go?

Ain't nothin' over till it's over.

For video and 3D, a MacPro or a PC really- the MacBook Pro's are nice enough, but not really viable long term as a primary workstation, and the iMac is hobbled by it's low Max RAM support, and lack of upgradeability.

What's available at these prices? And are you for a laptop or would you want a desktop Mac?

(A Mac Pro line refresh is expected for probably MacWorld Expo January 2008)

I would say so- it's almost certain to feature a major tech jump, and price drop.

Supposedly, Intel will present its new Penryn-based Xeons this November. Apple being its tech poster child (oh, well... ), Intel could serve it its first chip batchs, sort of what it did with its 3 GHz Quad Core processors.

Also, one would hope for a GPU refresh, too.

If you can, wait until January.

Personally, I like a nice three quarter length in black, gives freedom of movement, the rain runs of it nice and.......oh wrong type of mac.

His Wife is a figment, he's married to his right hand, the twat.
