6pm scifi?

I remember how people bemoan the demise of BBC2's 6pm scifi slot... well, I was looking through the good old Radio Times earlier, and noticed the new Virgin 1 channel which is on Freeview - and they seem to be showing episodes of Star Trek daily! I don't know what plans they have for that (and it's not at 6pm either, but even so) so I don't know if they are intending to broaden that out to more general scifi, but it's a start.

BBC2's 6pm sci-fi slot has returned recently, just it's been moved to about 2am

I pity the fool!

they messed up the family guy airings on BBCThree too, at one point they were on at 10pm - then 11 then 12 then for the last few episodes last year they were on at 12:20. Although now its fixed for the new airings so all is good.

The guys who organise these times must have mental problems, tv is crazy these days.

From the clips I've seen of it, it seems to primarily be about flatulence... but anyway!

Theres also talks of Virgin trying to aquire the first run rights to Battlestar Galactica Season 4. Which is odd, because

1) Sky customers can watch Virgin 1 anyway!!!

2) Less than 2 million people will properly watch it.

and 3) the "die hard" fans would have properly seen a 'preview' anyway!

And besides, you can't have a proper 6 pm slot without heavily editied Farscape and Buffy.

Oh, and Seven Days. Anyone remeber that? Kind of dissappeared after about 13 episodes!!

lol, yeah farting and overall rudeness mostly

The problem is that because sky one withdrew itself from virgin there is a drop in the number of people watching bsg, and that is bad for universal. So i guess they will do anything for more viewers.

Well I'm certainly not paying out loads of fancy Ls a month just to watch it a few weeks before it is available on DVD...
