Pretty awesome if you ask me. I personally don't think Starbuck is a Cylon. It would be too obvious and RDM doesn't do obvious. (Most of the time,) Enjoy!

Of course if the Writer's Guild goes on strike, it's going to be a messed up season.

For those who haven't been following the news out of LA, negotiations between the WGA and the powers that be are not going well.

If a new contract cannot be reached by Nov. 1st, WGA will go on strike. That will bring most TV and film production to a halt. Many directors, producers, actors, etc... are unlikely to cross a picket line.

The last time there was a writer's strike was in the 1980's. The strike lasted 22 weeks, costing studios an estimated 500 million in losses.

What does this mean for Galactica?

Perhaps this will mean a simple delay in production. However, if NBC feels they've lost a lot of money due to a Hollywood stutdown, they might be looking for shows that underperform in the ratings to cancel.

Cross your fingers and hope a new contract is reached this month.

EDIT: The WIKI article says WGA MAY wait until next June to go on strike, but WGA began voting recently to give union leaders the ability to call a strike anytime after the end of contract. They could strike earlier if they feel it's in their best strategic interest.

With production outside the US would the strike affect them?

the writers are in LA last I knew
they film of course in Vancouver, so I do think the strike would throw a wrench into things

the promo was freakin' awesome though! dang I just got out of the habit of saying 'frak' and bsg fever is staring up again

A strike would be BAD. But if their is a strike, I hope they don't just rush the season out like they did with TNG season 2 (the worst one). I hope they just wait it out and put togather a quality show for the viewers. Or RDM could just write the entire season.

I thought the trailer was ok... not great. Didn't really show enough to really get me worked up at all...

ps. if there's a strike, maybe they could hire us SFMers to write for them!

Oh, and sorry for the double post but Wikipedia is saying that the strike might not happen until June, which (hopefully) would allow most of the production fo the fourth season to finish up.

neat trailer. appearantly they all think starbuck is a cylon, roslin shoots something and tighe loses it (someone probable jarked off in is frakkin coffee).
