| Will Render for Food | Willing to render for free I know that some of you great modelers out there don't have the best PC's or don't want to take the long amounts of time to make High Res renders and I happen to have a great PC and many modeling programs, so if you would like to make large renders but don't want to tie your PC up while doing it, I'd be happy to use my PC as a small render farm for you all free of charge. All I request is that you set up the scene before handing it over for rendering since I'm not the world's greatest scene maker. ![]() I figure since I enjoy the seeing the work many of you are capable of and I have no real modeling talent of my own, this is a great way for me to aid the community and give back for the enjoyment of being able to view the many amazing and unique creations developed here. None of the models or materials you give me will be rereleased or used in any thing else other than the renders you request and will be deleted after your render is completed and handed over to you. I hope that many of you will learn to trust me take advantage of my offer as I see no reason to waste the many hours that my PC spends idle when it could be put to good use making great renders for the community. Just try it people, give me a chance to give back in some small way. Thank you for reading this and feel free to PM me if you would like to take advantage of my offer. *EDIT* Just to let you know, I have 3DS Max 8 and 9 as well as Sketchup, Lightwave 9, Maya 2008 and Blender. *Also, if you want animations or multiple renders, please set up the scenes separately and save them to separate scenes please, thanks. I'm also happy to do large scale clay WIPS as well. |

| Very generous, what kind of super system are you running exactly? I'm kind of interested as I am looking to build my own rendering machine. |

| Will Render for Food | Well, I had a modest budget, but Here are the specs. It's hardly super, but it gets the job done. Gaming Bomb 2 case Gigabyte K6 Triton PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad - Copper 750W Athlon 64 X2 FX-60 @ 3000 Mhz 2 gigs Kingston Hyper X XFX Nvidia 8800 GTX XXX SB XFi-Pro Raptor 74 Gb hard drive + 260 GB + 500 GB External Logitech MX Revolution laser mouse Logitech G15 Keyboard Onkyo Reciever w/Polk 6.1 Speakers Dell 3007WFP 30" WS @ 2560x1600 I'll be rebuilding at the end of the year with Dual Quad Core Xeons, 4 GB of DDR3, 2 TB Drives and the Nvidia G90. Then I can really get some renders pumping. ![]() I also want to become a donor here to keep this site going strong as well, but for now, I'm recuperating from an expensive new house, but I'll try and make as a large a donation as I can in time for Christmas. If you want any help planning your new system, let me know, this next build will be my 10th system build in the past 7 years and I've become quite good at doing amazing systems for the best amount of dough. I really hope people do take me up on the rendering offer, I know that many people are squeamish about letting their babies fall into strange hands, but you can feel free to ask around the Steam and Source Communities where I'm very well known for my game mod work as well as being a Super Moderator on FPSB for several years and a friend and colleague to all who know me. We guard the work of others there and take ownership of work very seriously and do all we can to guard against theft of intellectual property. |

| Wow, I'd offer my machine up as well, but it's dodgy compared to yours, even with 64 bit windows... Mine's only a Pentium D 3.6 with 2 gigs of ram and 1tb drive space... Guys, take this fellow up on his offer, seriously, this kinda computer power does not fall into personal hands that often. |
| Current WIPS: None 'cause I'm a lazy bastard. "With 5,000,000 models being destroyed a week, who's going to miss another one?" | |

| Holy Frak! wow, seriously, if i had any meshes(or for that matter, any 3d modelling talent) I would, in a heartbeat, that kind of power is what the nerd in us all know to be near godly computing power. what was the budget for that machine, per component, and total cost? |

| got a ship Id like orthos of: no, it isnt mine, but I've left numerous requests for the guy, so, if you could take a crack at a set of orthos, that would be cool. the mesh is in 3dsmax format. file information can be found here: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/meshes/index.php?dlid=177 also, please tag in image, each image with the name of the original artist, see above link for info. specifially fore, aft, side, top, bottom, and a 3qtrs shot, preferably in png format, in individual images, with a small border area on the image. please send images via PM thank you. |
