| SFM Guru | They could save Trek, but it needs a total overhall -something space opera, something new and something fresh. There are so many fan based ideas and novels that are around, all of which are just as capable of being tipped as great ideas for a future cannon show. I personally would like to see Titan, New Frontier and several of the Strange New Worlds short stories turned into a series or a mini series. I'd personally go with a nice well rounded BSG kinda story, test the waters with a mini series and if sucessful move onto a series. The new series would have to kick ass though, as I agree with one of the comments above, TV execs are only concerend about money and ratings, so it might not work like TNG did back in the 80's. And as for Mr. Frakes holding his own -keep him away from the pies and any dodgy "These are the Voyages" acting stylies and we'll be half way there! J |

I got an idea.... Survivor Borg The adjunct which can process the required data before the other 999,999 adjuncts is granted immunity. Meanwhile data sharing with the other adjuncts is allowed to interrupt the flow of traffic streaming to the central core and not be voted off the cube. Prepare yourself for crosstalk 100010101011101 action with borg as they assimilate each others non emotional, yet silent shared existance between hibernation alcove incidents.

Personally I would like to see the writers from BSG locked in a room with the writer from DEADWOOD and see what they came up with. Al Swerenger with a phaser. Number Six as a Klingon in charge of Wu's pigs. The mind boggles.

Beats the hell out of 'By jove Captain, that blighter fired at us.' 'That is unacceptable Number One. Send the brigand a sternly worded reply.' 'Ay Ay Captain.' 'Well Number One, what did he say?' 'He told us to get stuffed sir, and he put such a hard inflection on the stuffed. Permission to change my underware.'

My idea is to take trek in a different direction. A star trek misfits sort of mashup of Star Trek and Firefly. First episode the captain of a cruiser gets busted down to commander and placed on a frigate in the most undesirable part of the galaxy. The band of misfits manage to break every rule but keep the feds happy at the same time. I would like something new too or more Firefly for that matter. Like the original series and DS9 not a big fan of TNG or Voyager. I did like what I saw of Enterprise.

If it continues to exist ... It will definitely need a complete rebuild. I have to say that I enjoy the Enterprise era show but a future jump ... even if just after the war would be the way to go. Or .... Jump far enough into the future that you get the beginnings of the exploration of time with ships capable of monitoring the time line. Time travel episodes were among the most watched in the trek series.
