My new phone...

I got a new phone for christmas (a basic one, and had I known about it I'd have asked santa for a better version one on "3" ), it's a Nokia 5300 and it plays swf files!!!!

So, the trekkie in me produed a screensaver for it...
(some parts of it are from the LCARS Dev. source files, cos they looked better than what I originally made)

I thought I'd add a video of my phone (recorded with my digital camera, so the quality is a bit, well, 5h1t!!!), the sound isn't original to the video or screensaver though...

my phone is a crappy Motorola C139 Tracfone
it's cheap but I don't need it for much more than making calls

I just want it for the PAYG mobile broadband, not bothered about texts or calls...

The last non-Nokia I had (years ago of ourse!!!) was a Motorola Timeport T260, the only difference between that and my even older M3788 (which at the time had only 3 hours of standby battery life!!!) was that it was Tri-Band...

I miss having a Symbian based phone, I loved the ability to install different applications & games, on my old & new phones, I can only use Java based stuff which, to be frank, is cr*p!!! The Symbian phones I had were the 7650 (the first Nokia Symbian phone) and the 6260 (my mum still has it)...

I was lucky really, we had a burst pipe that came through the ceiling in our living room and completely knackered my old phone, so the insurance company paid for the new phone and since I actually purchased my old handset I could afford to buy a network free one so I have three different pay as you go sims that I can use depending on the network coverage.

I have a few SIMs too, but they're all VirginMobile ones (my preferred network, no frills unless I actually want them), the signal's decent enough so I never need to switch to another network (although Orange has a stonker of a signal round here, even in my old house (practically EM proof!!!) had a strong signal on a friend's Orange based phone!!!)...

As for insurance, it's probably something I should have, but I just can't be bothered...

Got myself a K850i here a bit before xmas- its a nice enough phone, but don't buy it on the strength of its camera.
