New machine...

Well im just about back up and running...
Heres a couple of pics.

Currently the spec is
q6600 g0 @2.4 [I plan to OC it to 3.4-3.6ghz]
4gb of ram with 6gb vertual memory
Vista64 bit [took fooking ages to sort out and get to a good usable state]
500gb HD new, But added some old drives and have about 1.5 tb
Oh and Nvidia 8800 GTS and plan to overclock that a little too.

Anyway rather happy with this system... And now I can get back to working on things im way behind on.

I don't think it'spowerful enough, you sure you don't want a super computer?

nice rig though, coincidently, my laptops almost as powerful as that d 2.4, winxp (can't stand Vista), so stuck at the 3,5g mark for memory and same vid card, otherwise pretty dang close

Nice spaghetti...

(Sorry, as a system builder I'm used to tying up the cables to prevent them getting caught up in fans or restricting airflow... )

Lol there mostly tired down in a channle the case has. But theres too many to fit all in there... But if i had some cable tires I could group a few more... But trust me this is not as bad as it looks... Still had good airflow

It's great how cheap quad-core systems are now. I paid about £550 for mine which is more-or-less the same spec as Simon's. I opted for 800Mhz RAM though as I didn't want 667 and didn't want to pay the extra for the slightly faster RAM as I didn't feel the step up in price was worth it

Yep and better suited for overclocking... Higher more stable clocks.

Basically the same spec I'm looking at- did you got for the MSI 8800 GTS or the BFG one?
