Yeah, the media has been jumping on that one already. Me, I am gonna wait a week or so, they need to calm down and get the story straight and at the very least, find out what the prelim report is from the ME.

He'd been battling a drug addiction (including Heroin).

He had a two year old daughter. He'll be lucky if she remembers him in any substantial way. I'm a dad. I guess this is the worst part of it to me.

I concur. I hate the thought of any child losing a parent so young...

I agree completely. Don't get me wrong. There's something very wrong with a person who cannot find the strength to reform for the sake of their child.

I was not praising Ledger as a father. My thinking is simply that one of my own fears is dying while my twin daughters are still young enough that in their later life the only memories they would have of me are hazy at best. I dropped 30 pounds and started working on my cholesterol because I want to be there to pick them up when they fall, be there when they need me. He blew that.

His daughter's pain over losing daddy will probably be brief, that's the mercy of being two years old. But the day will come when he will only be a picture on a wall, a video in the DVD collection. Quite a penalty for him.

A good man has passed on today, may his journey be a peaceful one.

This eats me up as a dad (10 month old son) no parent should ever have to bury their child.
