| SFM Obsessed | Blade Runner Final cut What can i say. I just finished watching the Final Cut on HDDVD on my computer.... And quite simply its a stunning work of art. The transfer is perfect. This film looks as if it could of been made really rather recently. Not almost 30 years ago. I wont go into the detail of the story as well you all know it. But i do urge to invest in HD viewing hardware. This film really does deserve it. Anyway has anyone else seen it? |

| I got the 4 disc edition the day it came out and I agree with you, it holds up extremely well. I first saw it when it came out in 82, I was 11 and loved it then too, but the overall message was lost on me. It really was a movie a head of its time. I wish Ridley Scott would make another sci-fi film, but after watching the Dangerous Days documentary I can understand why he hasn't! The DVD transfer and restoration is incredible, their is just so much detail in the background that got lost on film. I'm also glad that Scott didn't take the George Lucas approach and fart around with new special effects other than clean up a few shoots, like the spinner hanging from wires. All around a great movie and a great package. |

| Olmos. Say it slowly O... L....M.... Final cut is indeed perfect. You simply cannot tell where visual effects have been cleaned and where re-shot elements have been inserted. This is a textbook example of how to sensitively and comprehensively restore a film without destroying the things which made the film great in the fist place. |

| Although I love what he's done with stuff like Zhora's death and the general clean-up etc... and the fabulous documentary work, I've found the new version to be a bit blue in colour compared to the older versions, also darker in some scenes. The Tyrell building's browny colour has been lost in a lot of the shots. Still it's only a minor quibble as it's still a superb film, and give me the FX work over lots of movies that have been around in the last 20 years !! |
