Spotted this while looking up Chris Foss art.

In some parts of the painting those spider looking things look exactly like shadow warships.

Well it's in 21st Century Foss and that was published in 1978.

Could be at least early 70's really. Not really noticed those before and yet I do have that book and have looked at that picture a few times. Interesting !!
