| SFM Obsessed | Both effectively - they will be shown in cinemas, although whether they will be on their own, before a big movie or part of a showcase of smaller films is unknown at the moment Regardless of whether Lucas is about telling the story, the studios will be in it for the money and showing it in the cinema makes sense from that point of view, but in this case it's probably only happening because Lucas wants it to in the first place The live action shows are destined just for TV at this time, but who knows, if they are successful with Clone Wars "shorts" running in the cinema then they may do that with the live action stuff too |

Blog Entries: 2 | It is a tv show, one I am looking forward to, but showing the first three on big screens seems like a good way of getting money out of people who would have seen the shows for nothing. But we know since he already said there would be no new live action star wars films, that for star wars fans, this will be the only way to see a new star wars film, at least until he decides to stitch together the first few episodes of the live action show and put that out at pictures too. |

| Now although I quite like the look of the style they're going for I really can't see the point of doing stories that take place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, we've already seen the outcome of that story, and the last film didn't work for some people because we already knew who lived and died etc... And now we've seen the outcome of Order 66 etc... At least the Clone Wars series by Genndy Tartakovsky was made before people had seen Revenge of the Sith and helped build up to that movie, but now it seems like this is seriously retreading old ground. For me Star Wars has become to much about Jedi's and Sith flipping around with 2 lightsabers and lots of Sith lords with fancy tattooed faces, OK it may have worked for Darth Maul but it's become awfully monotonous in my opinion. Star Wars used to be more than just Jedi. They were such a small part of the original trilogy now they've become a bit boring in a lot of ways. In this new story Anakin has a Padawan, Ahsoka, again we already know she doesn't survive even up to Revenge of the Sith making any new characters pretty much redundant already in terms of drama, and how during a war does he find time to train her properly ? I'd rather Lucas use this style of animation and do sequels to the original trilogy if he doesn't plan to make live action films of them, or the adventures of Han and Chewie etc... There's so much more they could do if they stop being tied down by all this prequel stuff. I'm sure fans would love to see Timothy Zahn's 'Thrawn Trilogy' turned into an animated show.Characters like Mara Jade already have a very large following, as does Thrawn. Zahn's 3 novels Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command were super books that really stood out because the market hadn't been flooded with the amount of Star Wars novels there are now. I just think Lucas could do so much more than he's doing with this show, perhaps he'll eventually make sequels after all so doesn't want to stray into that area too soon. |

| Eh, I don't have an opinion either way. If it's out in the theater I may go see it on a weekend afternoon to save some cash. If not, then I'll catch it on tv; no biggy. |
