| SFM Obsessed | Knight Rider [Pos spoilers ahead] Surprised no one else started a topic yet.... So have you seen it? What did you think? Was Val Kilmer a mistake? My thoughts... It had none of the spark of The original series [and im talking seasons 1-3 not the abomination of season 4] My thoughts of the Car are a bit miffed as well... Internally its too Luxury minimalistic than the coolness it deserves. Nice design work just a bit to bare... Ok I know Will Arnett was pulled last minute because of conflict of interests [IE he also voice overs for another car company] And they placed Val Kilmer of all people... While he’s a cool voice I just didn’t feel right about it. What’s worse is this makes it seem even more the case that the KITT we all know and love is long dead and scrapped... The AI/Personality/Memories/Character are gone. And the new KITT is a totally new character all together. There was no tie in tv film thing that this Kitt is the same old kitt but upgraded. To be honest I think that was a big mistake. And I am sad Will isn’t doing the voice. He was more like William Daniels than Val can ever be. Once move I didn’t buy the whole Michael Knight had a wife before he was shot story. Seemed so false and forced. I don’t know. I don’t want to see this show die early like so many shows lately. But it does need to improve. Also I feel the car didn’t feature enough in the film as well :/ Anyway that’s my few pennys. What did you think? |

| Okay, I hadn't seen anything until you mentioned it - A few mins on youtube and I've learned that this is meant to be a sequel series, so no wonder the "personality" lacks. (Amoung the trailers, specificly this one YouTube - two minute new knight rider preview ) I don't know what car the new one is, but the design alone....is like meh - It has got the right "bulkyness", but lacks the "streamlineness" that Kitt ALSO had as a TransAM. |

| SFM Guru | I liked it, I expected it to be utter pure crap. but it wasn't. The effects are quite cool, though I don't see why they use craquelation when the paint changes/morphs. It's definately better than the old show, I mean come on, it was a cheap b show. but at least it's a continuation of the old show for the buffs. About the car, there's been compainign that the car isn't the right car and it's too plain and nromal for a KITT, well part of the idea is that he's supposed to blend in. if he was a badass Callaway Vette, it'd be a bit hard to blend in no matter how much he could change his paint job and add on minor air scoops and such. This is also a fairly forgiving car design for adding in stuff like air scoops and such. And of course this KITT is nothing like the old one, it IS a new KITT. it's not an upgraded KITT. The old KITT was still in the garage if you paid attention. The Body was in there stripped of most of the outer parts, the hood was up against a wall, and the Knight2000 motor was also shown as the camera panned over it. Personally I wouldn't have minded a car of a more sleek style like the original, but this is a new car and what car design they chose doesn't really matter. I liked the old Michael Knight Cameo at the end there, but unlike him, I hope we won't be seeing much more of him it also seems like this show will go worldwide, whereas the original knight rider was the truck carrying it all over the US. it seems from what they said at the end of the show, and the C130 that they're going crime/terrist fighting globally.I'm not sure I like the fact that they'll probably be fighting terrorist instead of criminals and they'll probably use large story arcs like every other modern show. whatever happened with simple entertainment shows that has a start and an end at every episode without these silly long story arcs. |

| SFM Nugget | yeah, this was pretty crappy, but could improve with some good writers. I could see old KITT and the hoff coming back to the series once in a while to bail out the new KITT. could be fun, but i still wish that they used my mockup instead of the mustang. | SFM Obsessed | Yep its Kilmer... Yeah i know thats what i ment... KITT was scrapped AI charactor personality... Though it wasnt deffienant... Not a good way to go for the main charactor of the old series. Not exsacly dignifide is it? I would of been happy if they just mentioned once the new KITT is a transfer of the old kitts AI but upgraded. So in essence its still the same charactor. |

| AH fotrgot asll about this last night, guess ishould have DVR'd it, but meh, i'll wait it'll rerun again soon i bet. But what i've seen in previews is it's pretty crappy production wise, the acting in the previews was subpar, and val as the car voice was a bad bad moove, his voice just isn't right. |
