I loved Alias (seasons 1&2, and the end of season 5), I love LOST, and I liked MI:III a lot. I have high hopes for Abrams' Trek. Zachary Quinto is a great choice for Spock, too! Wee-hee!

Is he? Really? Somehow I don't understand people's tastes.

Except the hair color, he looks nothing like the young Leonard Nimoy we've already seen in TOS.

So? Daniel Craig looked nothing like James Bond, and he did a wonderful job. Maybe more stock should be put into his abilities as an actor to portray Spock, rather than looking 100% like him?

Not looking like Nimoy isn't a bad thing, Wilde.

Personally, I saw a resemblence. Subtle, but there. And remember, you are not seeing him in makeup with the ears, the haircut, and the skin tone.

With Nimoy involved, I am more optimistic. His last TOS film, ST VI, was pretty good. Not perfect, but good. Loads better than V or VII, sorry, "Generations." And Nimoy picked a really good TNG story to be involved in. So his vote of confidence, which really isn't likely to be about money given how much he's made already, makes me think good things may be in store.

My inner child got his ass kicked by my inner juvenile delinquent...

Whatever. I'm not going into why I think Kirk and Spock aren't James Bond, or Superman, or Spiderman. They probably casted Quinto for the excellence in his eye brow movement.

Lets face it, this film could be nothing but a six hour screening of the teaser poster, and some people would still queue up to pay £7.00 to see it. It's doomed to be successful purely because it's "Star Trek Reset". Casino Royale was in the same position, but fortunately that had a good plot, good acting and good direction to go some way towards justifying the hype and takings.

I'm sure Quinto's Spock will be nothing like his character on Heroes

personally I don't care what they do with the movie. I'm going to see it when it comes out in a year and a half, and I'm gonna like it
