Question *** Can Anyone Tell Me What This Music Is ***

I have tried for the last few years to discover the origins of the music on the following web site, but have thus far FAILED….

http://www.phoenixium.com/

The site has several compilations. The ones I am most interested in sound like they are part of the soundtrack to some epic fantasy movie. The specific tracks are as follows:

* The score from the main page here :
http://www.phoenixium.com/

* Click “ENTER” . The score on this next page (“MAIN”).

* Click “F.A.Q.”, this score.

* Click “Gallery”, then 2D Stills then 01

* Click “Gallery”, then 2D Stills then 02

If ANYONE can shed some light as to what these titles are from, please do!!! They sound as if they are from the same movie.

Thanks in advance!

PS: Yes, I tried sending him an email on a few occasions in the last couple of years, but never got a reply…..

Hm, the one on 2D-Still-02 reminds me to a scene in Momo. an animated film based on the book The NeverEnding Story, by Michael Ende.
But I'm not sure about the others. Some have similarities to musical scenes from other animated things, others sound merely like from a CD of Spherical Sounds.

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

That's why I've became a Warrior of Heart, Defend the one you like, Guard the one you love...

Two of them are from "Bicentennial Man" soundtrack by James Horner... when I use the Main control.. and enter the stills gallery

The main page is a puzzler .. I don't know who that is .. It could still be Horner but I don't think so .. Danny Elfmen is a possibility ?

ah I recognise some of this stuff, you're right they all sound like they're from the same movie, well 2 movies to be precise (not bicentennial man like said above) - the one on the main page is the main title theme from A Beautiful Mind - sung by charlotte church interestingly , 2D stills 01 and 02 are also from further on in that same film

A Beautiful Mind (2001)

A Beautiful Mind Soundtrack @ Movie Music . com

I'm pretty sure the other 2 are from king kong

King Kong (2005)

King Kong Soundtrack @ Movie Music . com

check this out - YouTube - King Kong you'll hear the cue all thoughout it, then if you go to about 3 minutes in you'll hear the exact music from the FAQ page

I'm pretty sure the one on the splash page is from the king kong opening credits

interestingly I've looked at the XML playlists he has and it only says artist="Audio" title="Music" so not very helpfull there

dak used to be a member here, maybe he still is

anyway, hope that helps

I pity the fool!

I do recognise that one on the splash page as title music from something, can't put my finger on it though

Thats James Horner again .. he reuses a lot of his musical scores .. I have both on cd save for tempo changes and some vocal. same music as "Bicentennial Man"
So what ever CD you go for ..its the same more or less

Have you thought of just emailing him and asking .. because I like to have the music on the err - splash page ..

yeah he says he emailed in the first post

you can get the music if you just find the mp3 in your cache, I did that years ago

I don't remember bicentennial man sounding too much like a beautiful mind, but it's been a while since I watched it, I know horner reuses a lot of his music, but that's with the action stuff usually - aliens, star trek 2 etc. I even remember hearing a little bit of music in patriot games that sounded like it was lifted directly from aliens

still you can hear this with most composors, for example goldsmith (to a lesser extent) and to much lesser extent williams, but I like them all just the same

I pity the fool!

I'll Have to dig them out. but its starting to sound more beautiful mind. as it lacks an opening cue .(I not an expert so "cue" is possibly the wrong word)

" Goldsmith is a particular fav of mine. Aliens esp top work. Star Trek: The Motion Picture opening Love theme on his CD is great
I have a early Horner cd .. Battle Beyond the stars .. you can really hear Trek in it. or visa - versa which ever came first

I have a look later and see..

I missed the e-mail part

While were at it, what's the one on the links page?
Doesn't sound much like Dvorak, which is the only one I remember being credited for some of the music on the site, in a previous version.

Thanks ALL for the replies! I should have posted this questions years ago....

So the camp is still out on whether it's from "A Beautiful Mind", or "Bicentennial Man".

Thanks all!!!

Perhaps I should just get both CD's. If they both are from the Horner and sound very similar to each other, then odds are they both sound excellent!
If anyone has either of these soundtracks and can unequivocally verify it, that would help too ;-)

Again, THANKS!

PS: As far as the suggestion to grab the MP3's from my cache....I did that the moment I heard them a few years back. So I have been listening to these MP3 clips for the last few years, but obviously never got to hear the complete versions since I could never find out who or what they were from.
