I've found this picture two or tree weeks after the release of the teaser on a web site speaking about it but I couldn''t find it on any web site related to star trek, so I don't think this is the real Enterprise from ST-XI. But there is a resemblance between this one and the one in the teaser. What do you think?

UH, that IS Gabe's v1 reboot conjecture ship. It is much older than that silly trailer. source image is dated May 23 2007. You should be able to locate that in 1080p via google.

Sure it shared the base concept with the original but it was like a totally new ship. I just want something similar to that. But it won't happen until another series or movie so let's leave that topic
But u forget this is star trek and the enterprise is her own character. And she should at least stand up to todays standards but form what i hear she will be lacking on the interior.

Ok then I will make a different comparison - it's like replacing Sean Connery with Pierce Brosnan ... how's that ? I know that people love the design but when people see the same design over and over again they will think that the producers didn't do anything to make the movie unique or fresh. I will probably watch the movie but unless there will be tons of other NEW Federation vessels, I will be most likely very disappointed (because the ship won't let me think about any good parts of it)

Fitter, Happier And More Productive ...

Well, aside from the story being something unseen before for this particular set of ToS characters. But who cares about that when the eye candy is clearly going to be the be-all-end-all of the movie?

Yeah, everyone is concerned about what the Enterprise will look like, not whether the movie will be good.

Gabe's Enterprise IS the new Enterprise. I know people have said it's not, including Gabe, but the ships look the same, and Gabe spent a LONG time putting a LOT of detail onto his ship... way more than just any personal project would entail. He posted the WIPS and pics of it, to get an idea of the reaction it would get from the fans. He can't say that this is the new ship, because he can't. But trust me... this IS the new Enterprise... it's been hiding in plain sight all this time. Say what you wish, but come movie time, I will be proven right.

Kinda like everyone more interested in what the next GeForce is going to be called than what it can do.

I'm no TOS expert, but wasn't the constitution class more or less the only class of ship available? Freighters, civil ships etc. excluded.

Compare: http://www.startrekreborn.net/images...orbit_1080.jpg with: http://www.marcblee.org/images/star-...terprise-b.gif.

Whilst it could be said that one may have been heavily inspired by the other (and who could say which way round at this stage?), there are some definite differences - we can only really make out the forward part of the upper saucer from the trailer, but even there you can see some differences that prove that at the very least, Gabe's design as he rendered it is not the ship being used (even if it were his model, it would necessarily have undergone some modifications to arrive at the ship you can see in the trailer).

Trek fans will of course expect the new ship to be pretty faithful to the original - those who understand enough about cinema will also understand the need for the ship to undergo a bit of a transformation to make it look acceptable on the big screen (though it need not be a drastic transformation, even then). But ultimately Star Trek is about the stories; I fully expect a lot of people to pan the film long before they've seen it purely on the grounds that they made the Enterprise look a bit more up-to-date, but I for one am quite content to wait until the thing is actually released and judge it by the story.

Melak: The old conny was the only Starfleet ship seen on screen, though this was almost certainly due to budgetary constraints. I think it was said that there were only 12 of them during the time of TOS, so there were probably other, smaller ships, but we never saw them.
