Large Hadron Collider petition.

Allright people, let your inner geek speak, and Commence Primary Ignition!
You know you want to because, let's be honest, it's cool and it sends a nice message to all those idiots whining about how the LHC will Open A Path To Hell/Create A Black Hole/Destroy The Allen Belts/Gives Satan More Power/Gives Them Hives, etc...

Where's the "Oh for f***s sake, just throw the damn switch" petition?

Cos if they're gonna blow up the world i'd rather they just did it, it's the waiting that i can't stand... Just make sure it's on a monday morning, it would really suck if they blew up the world on a friday.

lol! there is this group of "scientists" who believe that activating the collider will create a micro-black hole which would destroy the planet. They sued to prevent it from opening, despite having zero evidence or proof that this might happen. Morons.

hehe actually they are hoping that it WILL create micro black holes. We are in no danger from them, as they would evaporate almost instantly, but would provide a very significant nod in the direction of quantum string theory if they are seen.

I kinda hope it does create micro singularities in the offices of these "scientists" and suck them up

I remember seeing a program on BBC some months ago about three different ways the world could. One was an asteroid, two was a tsunami and three was the activation of the Large Hadron Collider. In creating a micro black hole it also creates Strangelets which if i remember seeing the video, would end of the world pretty badly.

if i could remember the name of the program I'd put up a youtube link. but like a few posts above, a few scientists are worried that something can go wrong that they have not forseen

Heh, i like that quote. It works for me, if the collider works as it's designed and the world survives everyone giggles at a star wars callback. If it doesnt work and the earth blows up, the scientists have the last laugh because their callback was to a planet killing weapon firing.

Current WIPS: None 'cause I'm a lazy bastard.
