And is made by warner brothers, so even if they did film in hollywood, it wouldnt have been in that studio.

Flammable sets are one thing within a building, but jumping streets is something else. That level of inferno would take at least 30 full minutes. Besides when propane explodes it flattens buildings it doesn't add fuel to a fire.

Whether it was the studios fault for not having proper fire safety in place (i wouldn't put it past a studio to pay-off an official inspector) or it was set by someone. Regardless it was reported far too late to matter.

My best friend who builds set, and has done work on that stage set tells me it could cost as much as a 1/2 billion $ to replace it the way it was!
what people don't seem to understand is it's not just the set it's also the support devises that were destroyed hope they have INSURANCE!

He told me there was at least a 100 million in Digital devises for filming just for that very large set!

there goes HEROS!

@Nutsy & Biotech: I'm well aware Smallville films in Vancouver, and is made by Warner. I was saying its just a shame that it wasnt destroyed, saving us from sitting through one more season.

Yeah I would like to see the photos.

I just read that they kept the old full sized Viper prop from the 70s galactica series behind one of the new york facades, so I guess thats toast now.
