Ok, now that was very good. I really like that style of television, cos it's different, I really hope next week's can match it

What was your opinion, thoughts etc?

The Doctor is very funny. I hope David Tennant has a long run as the The Doctor. Donna Noble is a surprisingly strong companion. The actress playing Agatha Christie is great too, I hope to see her in more stuff.

Yeah I agree, David Tennant is a great actor, he has done some amazing work with the Doctor, especially this episode, but the Doctors little rants are always fun to see. Was Tate busy or summat for this one, she had very little screen-time.

Well the central theme of the story was a good one... and at times it was well done. But for me, I thought it was a pretty weak execution overall. It was let down by the frivolity that seems to be Davis' trademark... shame really. That and yet another example of a complete lack of imagination when it comes to artistic direction for sets and more specifically costumes. It may as well have been set in the present day.

I agree about the one shown here (UK) tonight. You could see what they were trying to do, but it didn't really work. I noticed that they never showed the outside of the vehicle they were in and they never went back to Donna beside her bookend scenes. Obviously a conscious decision to make the viewer feel claustrophobic, but the only scene that really engaged with me was when the passengers all started talking about chucking the Doctor outside. That pretty much shows what the problem was. We weren't made to care about any of the supporting characters, so the only person left was the one we all knew couldn't possibly get hurt. I also wonder if the lighting contributed. It seemed really overlit and "comfy" in that vehicle. And I suppose a scary alien that repeats everything you say back to you isn't that scary after all.

Yeah i thought the same... The lighting should of been really stark contrasted and dark with harsh bright spots. The concept was a fantastic one. The repeating alien was really creapy. But they failed to take it to the level they needed to.

On the note about davies. Dont knock him too much. i admit Im not a massive fan of his direct writing style in Who. Its far to happy go lucky cheasy and so on. But He did bring who back and that ILl forever be greatful for. Mofat is where its at now. Hes one of whos strongest writers. Hes done some of the more scary creapy and really well done who episodes.

A note about the "cheasy" sets and costumes: They are obvious though-backs to the original non-existant-budget days of the old "Who's.

About the last episode, it was good have him figuring things out little by little again, rather than within the last five minutes like he has been doing.

For a bottle show it was quite decent: everytime someone does a lynch mob mentality show it creeps me out lots. What I am having a problem with is the way many Who characters sacrifice their lives in such fast and loose ways that it hardly impact us viewers: it ruined the Titanic episode for me, and nearly did this one. One would expect a character like the bus hostess wanting to throw the posessed passenger out without so determinedly killing herself in the process. The build up is not there, really.

Now, having Rose back better be good (please, PLEASE!).

i liked it,it did have a really unearving feel when you see the doctor completely loose control for once ( i wonder if anyone noticed that the proffessor was the 2nd doctors son)

Getting quite worried that Rose is coming back, she kind of got in the way a bit too much during series 1 and 2 and bearing in mind the 30 years of companions before her she was really nothing special.

Got to admit, I thought that this particular episode was shoddy (overall). As a side note, Davies does not seem to be able to write a show that either is i. absent of at least some reference to non-hetero relationships or ii. a mob mentality. He got DW back up and running, but I'm glad he's going - he just seems to have run out of steam on anything original (not refering to story there, more things like characterisations etc.).

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.
