The Day the Earth Stood Still (trailer)

Hollywood rehashing yet another classic.

Thoughts?

Looks VERRRRRY different from the original film (which is one of my all time favorite SF films! ) I am not sure what to think of this one so far. Special effects look pretty cool. Could be good *shruggs* have to see it when it comes out :P

It could be very interesting to see what they did to this one.

Robert Wise's classic, and Bernard Herrmann's amazing score, are a big act to follow.

Of all the things I miss, I miss my mind the most.

Looks like an interesting take on the story, but as always it's hard to tell from a trailer, and I'm not sure about Keanu. Might rent the DVD...

Imo it looked awful. I, like many of u love the original, but some things should just be left alone.

But where do all the calculators go?

Ain't nothin' over till it's over.

I follow the mainstream in loving the original. But the trailer had no elements of the original in it as far as I can tell. Looks more like a revised spielbergian war of the worlds... Great special effects, though, and I'm sure Gort will rock, but the story? Dunno...

I thought it was pretty stupid how the truck keeps driving along with its back end disintigrating, I guess whatever force is destroying it also holds up the back end that no longer has wheels.
