Question A Windows Question.

I just upgrade Blender to 2.46, which installed with out any problems.
The problem I having now is that Windows is no longer recognising my old files.
I have tired opening with… and selecting the Blender.EXE. Which I have done in the past. The problem is this time, when I select the Blender.EXE. it not added into the other .exe list to select.

I can open the files if I open Blender and then open the files I want to work on. But I would prefer just opening the files by clicking on them like I should be able to.

As to what version of Windows I am using as had this problem XP as well.
Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this problem?

This just sounds like the file extension just has not been registered with the 2.46 install. You can do it manually, but it might just be easier dropping by the Blender forums and seeing if the issue has been raised already - you may find a replacement installer has already been created. This type of thing has happened before elsewhere.

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.

Hmm My laptop recently crashed which lead me to do download the lastest version. I have no problems there. but the laptop is using XP SP2, while the PC I am having problems with, is Vista.

I'll take alook anyway. Thanks Craig.

Don't be too surprisied with Vista not doing a lot of things...I've been running Vue, Painter and Lightwave on Vista Ultimate for a year or so now, and none of them are able to retain their licenses for more than a single session...
