| SFM Guru | Awesome refernce pictures of Tumbler and Batpod Today I got to see up close and personal the Tumbler and the Batpod. I was so close I could have touched them, but wasn't alowed. Below is a picture of my fiancee and son next to Batman in front of the Tumbler and Batpod. ![]() This is a link to the Photbucket album where I stuck all of my pictures of the two vehicles. There's about forty shots, some close up and others far away. Hope you guys enjoy them. Come August we are going to the State Fair and my son and I are gonna ride on the original TV Batcopter, that is if the guy is there that owns and operates the helicopter. This will be my third time up and his first. Anyway, enjoy. BoogerMc/Batpod - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting |

| SFM Guru | It was in Cleveland, Ohio. They were leaving for Washington D.C. that evening, as to where they go from there I don't know. I spoke with a lovely lady who was the local promoter and she had some interesting things to say. 1] The tumbler (as it appears here) gets one mile to one gallon of gas. After examining it very closely, I determined it was one of the stunt cars and not the "hero" car that was present. The give away was the roof area, if this had been the real thing the canopy would have been segmented so as to allow for the windshield to fold back like in the movie. This particular model only had an access panel on the top and as far as I could tell one seat inside. She confirmed that the guys who dropped it off entered through the roof panel. This model was indeed drivable; in fact, she watched as they unloaded and drove it into position. 2] The Batpod was not as mobile as the Tumbler. The engine had been removed and a mock up was in place. As near as I could tell the engine is located in the "tank" area. The exhaust pipe extends down from here, so that is what I based my guess on; although it might be electric considering the way the hubs in the wheels look, but nothing was confirmed at this point. She did say that the pod was supposed to reach upto 100mph. I could almost believe this except for one thing, how does Batman keep from catching his cape on the unprotected rear wheel? 3] Something I noticed almost immediately, this has got to be one uncomfortable ride. Let's face it, your chest is on the tank, your elbows sit in padded holders and your arms are shoved into the gaurds while your hands set at a perpendicular angle to the ground; and as far as your legs go, your knees also set in stirups and your feet are plastered to these small pedals just forward of the rear tire. It'd be like laying down on a skateboard and praying to God the whole thing doesn't kill you in the end. Oh and the crotch area is so small and squared off, not to mention sparcely padded, that has got to hurt when you hit a pot hole. All in all this was totally cool none the less. I would have loved to have gotten more pics, but my Batman digital camera only takes so many high res photos and my phone doesn't always get as detailed or clear a pic as I would like. Anyway, glad you guys like these pics, they'll be there for a while so make use of them as best you can. |

| The fully functional version was at Silverstone for the Grand Prix on Sunday, it looked fantastic driving along side an F1 car. |

| SFM Guru | As far as I know, the Tumbler on display was functional as far as drivability was concerned, as to all the other "functions" I couldn't say. I highly doubt that even the Hero model can really launch missles and do a real rampless jump, but then again you never know. |
