They are ignoring what happen in the past films, and setting a whole new universe with batman begins. NOTHING in this film is a remake of the first film. It's a different kind of story. Stop saying nonsense if you don't even watch the film. | |

| DON'T OPEN THAT!! | I completely agree with Boogers assessment of the movie except for the Joker styling, IMHO it was perfect. He was grimy, psychotic and his clothing reflected that plus not having him dipped in a chemical bath and just having him be psychotic from whatever physical trauma caused his scarring or some deep rooted childhood evil made him even worse than just being some former mobster that has a sudden psychotic break after being dipped at the Axis chemical plant ![]() Seriously though the movie was great and Nano is right Two Face wasn't a villain in the sense that we think of, in fact he was Batman if Bruce had taken revenge to that level which we saw in the first movie he was going to. He and Harvey were 2 side of a coin if you will. Harvey's character was so tragic and with the Joker pushing the correct buttons he became his own model of vengeance. It was perfectly done. Now we see the Birth of Commissioner Gordon, I thought in the comic Gordon only had one kid? Or is this foreshadowing for a terrible event in his life where only Barbara is left to him and did anyone catch that his wife's name was Barbara also? I felt relly let down my Detective Ramirez when you find out she sold out to the mob especially if you watch Gotham Knight and get the back story on the Major Crimes unit she was all about justice and supporting the Batman. The way Batman took on the Villains role for the sake of Harvey and the city at the end showed his nobility and willingness to do whatever it took to protect Gotham even from himself if need be. Fox and his gadgets never disappoint and I'm hoping that make a kick ass Batmobile for the next go round cuz the tumbler rocked. Seriously if you have not seen this movie you need to go. Forget he 1989 Burton style Crap that was put out as a portrayal of Batman this has nothing to do with that and if you haven't seen Batman Begins you could get by seeing this as it stands on its own but you are still doing yourself a disservice by not seeing the first one if you are thinking its just a rehash of the 89 batman. This is Batman as real as he can get and you need to see this movie. |

| SFM Guru | Gordon's wife in the comics was named Barbara and he did have two kids (at least in one of the stroy tellings). The Barbara Gordon we know and love as Batgirl isn't his kid; she's his niece. The story goes (one of them anyway) that her parents were killed and Jim was her last known living relative; so he takes her in and evetually adopts her as his daughter. The thing about Batman and his world is it has be created and recreated so many times over the years that there are several variations on the base story. In fact the movie touched on different "origins" of The Joker based on these different incarnations. One of my personal favorites has just wrapped up a few months ago; Joker was a hitman (best in the biz) and he was hired to off the Bat. When he finally meets up with him, they have one hell of a battle royale and the guy who would become The Joker, well let's just say he gets the point of why Bats is feared the way he is and that he winds up taking a swim where he shouldn't have. This of course gives way to his transformation and then all hell breaks loose and the classic rivalary begins. With the promotion of Gordon to Commish, that also sets up the eventual lose of his family. There is one story where they die, but I can't remember how off the top of my head. As to future stories, rumor already has it the Ridller is up next, but I'm more concerned with how they'll handle Catwoman. Her and Bruce have so many ties and lately they've been "curling up together", so this should make for a very interesting story down the road. On another point made earlier, multiple villians in the same movie is almost to be expected, in reality you'd almost expect to run into more than one in the same city, it's just that they don't all have to take center stage. Some can be there for forshadowing of future stories and others can be there just for little cameos. Done this way, it's more realistic and I really think that is the point of the new series, to make it as real as possible for a comic based movie, but not to get so caught up in reality that you forget what your baseline is. Some one on one of the interviews I was watching put it best, they called it "hyper reality" or reality and then some. On a side note, History channel ran a "Batman Tech" special the other night and they confirmed my theory; the Batpod is electric not gas driven. As cool as it was for the pod to come out of the Tumbler, after seeing them together, there is just no way it's even possible. None of the mechanics of the pod exist in the Tumbler and the batteries that are present on the Pod, are just too small to be able to operate such a device in the way it would have to do so. All that said, it only makes the effects that much more awesome in the end because it is so believeable when it happens. |

| This movie Rocks.... Pure and simple. I completely agree with the Batpod. It didn't work.... The position of everything inside the Tumbler (RIP ) just couldn't have produced the bPod, but i am more than willing to let that little niggle go on the back of everything else in the movie.Ledger..... Best movie bad guy i have seen.... ever imho. the creepiness, pure psychotic nature he put into the role of the Joker is amazing. As much as i'd not like this to be his final movie.... it's a hell of a way to finish. The Two-Face design was freakishly good.... very creepy, The parallels between the two meets of Batman, Dent and Gordon didn't pass me by. Nolan has made two fantastic movies, and i cannot wait for a third. |

| Saw the film last night and i really enjoyed it. Although for some reason, Batman's low growling voice kinda annoyed me this time, i though maybe they would of experemented a bit more with the voice. Mind you it did take Kevin Conroy over 10yrs to get it right lol I kinda miss the Batcave and Manor, you think with the story set a year later they would of finished building by now, but i heard they wrote it out the story due to shooting issues in Britain? I think the Scarecrow Cameo was a bit of a waste, at the end of Batman Begins, he'll a complete nutjob due to being exposed to his own medicine. When we see him next he's on a horse all crazy. In this film he doesnt seem crazy at all The Joker i thought was brilliant, its good to see a fresh new take of a character with so much history, its too bad we'll never see it again though ![]() When Harvey turns around and you first see TwoFace, even i sat up and took notice, that really was amazing CGI work, and it would of been brilliant if we would of seen him in the next movie, but guess not |

| SFM Nugget | I would think like most drugs it eventually passes out of the system. If there were any long term effects wouldn't Batman be suffering from them as well? I might very well be wrong (and I often am) but I thought the drug they were using in the first film was the same drug that was used on Wayne during the training at the dojo in the mountains. |

| SFM Obsessed | Nore did I, more of a turned victim. Joker used him Joker twisted him. And brilliantly so. I only saw the film this afternoon, after trying to go and see it at 2 cinemas last night all booked out in london hours before the film was showing ![]() Anyway saw it today and yeah its long... My bladder was about to burst all over the theatre by the time the film ended. But I endured I really didnt want to miss a minute of this film. It was simply fantastic. It has a very different pace to the first film. But it worked brilliantly. And Heath ledger as the Joker... Oh god.... Many like to say people only say it was so great because he died soon after completing... I like to say theyre idiots, end of. Heath for a long time has been recognised as one seriously good and dedicated multi role actor who is capable of completely transforming himself into a role. Like Oldman, I dont see Heath Ledger in this film. The charactor is completely unrecognisable in the real world. Simply put. HE IS THE JOKER. A trurly twisted sick phycopathic murderer who doesnt give a damn about anyone nore himself. But whats more hes nor a mindless moron Hes intelligent. He is totaly capable of twisting anyone with mind games.... Its hard to really go into details about this film but it was a seriously fantastic job. I loved every minute of it. And yes the twoface effects where seriously well done. Oh one niggle... Harvys voice was a little too good after his face was melted off and holes in his cheaks... He should of been slurpign and having a really hard time with actualy saying words at all with that much damage. But i dont care everyones performance was fantastic. Oh and even so the UK has rip off prices for cinema tickets [we paid 8 quid in zone2 of london you pay up tp 20-30 quid in the west end.] It was still worth it... |
