Too much computer

My friends and I have been sharing some too much computer experiences.

"I looked out my window one day, saw some people walking across the street, And I actually took a double-take. I was confused because they didn't have their names and guild tags over their heads."

"I once woke up to find myself wondering what texture I should wear to school"

"So ive been playing so much Fallout that I pressed I for inventory while at my desktop screen in an attempt to access my C:\ drive... I've been also seeing dialog options in green text in my head when i talk to somebody"

"I have tried to control+Z a drawing"

Anyone got any?

uhhh....this is the kind of stuff that should make you consider not touching your computer for a few weeks except for school/work related stuff. You could also try deleting all the games you have. It worked for me like 5 years ago...

You people are weird...the only thing that happens occasionally with me is imagine some object in wireframe, but that's part of being a CG artist...missing game features in real life, or trying to undo some screw up in a drawing in paper is a bit over the top

I sometimes get a small ctrl-z twitch when I'm off the computer. Not just drawing either. Doing pretty much anything. Ctrl-s too, when I'm drawing or filling out a form or something and think 'ooh! I got this far, I'd better save'.

Comco: i entered it manually in the back end

Oh yes, a Quicksave / Quickload could really come in handy sometimes ...

Sometimes when I'm about to come too late to classes because the bus or train had delay, I wonder where I put my Potion of Speed.

I do usually get the feeling that I should save my daily progress, especially when I've managed to get something important done. Just to remember that life has autosaving turned on...
However, the programmer must have forgotten the Undo-command...

Within my friends circle, we exchanced some words or phrases with computer terms.
For instance the sentence "You shouldn't have done/said that." is "Well, that was a CTRL-Z action!"
Being at school/university is commonly reffered to as "Stand-by" mode (to the opposite of sleeping: shut-down of course that is...).

Another friend once said: "Life is like a computer game. Just the graphics are better..."

And, due to the fact that in RPG the chars commonly put things close to the bottom to add them to their inventory, so when my friends and I were walking in a park and a man in front of us was straching his a*s, following dialogue arouse.
"Well now, I wonder what he's getting outta inventory that long...."
"Must be some food as it's taking a while. See, he's still loading."
"Damnit, you guys are such reatards! He's getting a staff!"
"Ouchie. So that's why that person walks so incredibly upright?"
"Sure! Must be a pain in the back to have by word an inventory."
"Well, think about caravans. What should those poor camels say?!"

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

That's why I've became a Warrior of Heart, Defend the one you like, Guard the one you love...

My coworkers and I at the studio would sometimes use lunch to go to the gym. We'd call it going to subdivide our meshes.

Also at the bar or clubs we'd see a group of girls and call them a mob. And we'd wonder what kind of buffs we'd need to mitigate their aggro.

2d art is treated as a bastard child in 3D forums.
There are cultures on this planet that are just plain not ready for advanced technologies like explosives and automatic guns

Its all about repetition really. While I do have repetitive dreams regarding 3D work when its a heavy time, my most long-term is computer-to-computer.

Starting nearly 30 years ago, I've been a user if vi under unix and linux. While I rarely use vi now, to this day I automatically hit ESC after each sentence in any word-processor or text editor to leave edit mode.

Luckily, just hitting ESC by itself in most apps doesn't do much when editing text - other than here of course, which wipes out what your typing - done that a few times.

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.
