Need Help With Star Trek Ship Design!

Hi SFM,

My name's Jack. I'm a great fan of the Star Trek universe and I love the artwork produced by members of this forum.

I have an idea for a ST ship design but I have no idea how to do simple drawings, let alone meshes on the computer. I am hoping that someone here might want to help out?

Here's my idea. It is a class of ship of the direct post Dominion War era. It is slightly similar to the Sovereign in design. It is a more capable combat vessel than some of starfleet's previous designs but is better equiped for the exploration role than the Sovereign. It incorporates technology brought back by the USS Voyager. It is slightly larger than the Sovereign as to accomodate the more comprehensive sensor suites and research facilities.

Some of the details I'm still working out but I really hope this interests some of you.

You don't have to have a 3D or 2D Art programs to make your starship there has been plenty of artist on this forum that do it the old fashion way, with Pencil and paper. Thats how I design my starships. The best way to start out designing your starship is sketching out your designs and get inspirational ideas from other Federation starships. I would continue to sketch until I found a design to my liking. An then I will feel in and finish the design.

Check this thread out it belongs to ASR CO COVENTRY, and man this guy makes some pretty impressive starships. So take alook and I hope this will give you some inspirational ideas in designing your starship.

Blackbird17, I have been jotting down a few ideas but unfortunately I'm not the best with a pencil and paper either........... I'll definitely keep trying though.
