A truly large ship model for a story

I'm currently writing a story set in the present about Earth making contact with a dying race very similar to ours but radically more advanced. they've decided that because they're dying and their mission is so important, they want to leave their legacy to a compatible race and we are the only ones that fit the bill. they're entire empire exists on one starship, though it is a massive one. Its 7000 Kilometers in length by 3500 Kilometers wide by 1200 Kilometers high. To give comparison, the first Death Star was 120 Kilometers in diameter. I'm open to the design and just really want someone who is interested in free thinking a massive ship into existence to do some basic mock ups in either 2d or 3d form. I would be most thankful for any help that would come my way.

You know the earth is 10,000km in diameter right?

Yes I do. That gives you some idea of the size of the craft. But then again this is a ship that makes point to point jumps. I'm just curious how many people could live on a ship this big, because this is supposed to contain an entire empire as part of the back story.

Interesting. I'd love to host it at my geocities site, in a non-trek section. I can't wait to find out why your alien race is dying. Ecological disaster? They figured things out about recycling, etc. but it was far too little too late to stay/reverse the damage they'd inflicted on themselves? A combination of social diseases, ecological deterioration, near-earth objects colliding with their homeworld due to a nearby sun gone nova sending debris of planets in the nova's wake like missiles into neighboring solar systems, and general lack of cooperation between their heads-of-state?

This is certainly some interesting food for thought

The amount of people who could fit inside a ship that size would probably be in the order of hundreds of trillions, hardy sounds like a dying race.

the ship sounds like it would be about half the size of Mars!
you're going to have some peculiar gravity effects going on unless you go spherical

also just doing some calculations based on the numbers you listed, and assuming a totally rectangular shape . . .

your ship would have a volume of 29400000000km^3
that turns out to be 7442000000km^3 more than the volume of the moon!

worldships are always allot of fun, i would still suggest cutting down the dimensions more to the size of a moon or so rather than outweighing the earth.. ill see if i can think something up over the next couple days but i'm not making any promises

You do realize that if that ship got close to Earth it's pretty sure neither would survive? Ah well, just call it fiction and leave out the scienence and it should be ok ...

a little further across than Mars, actually

but don't worry about plausibility, people thought the Dyson sphere was cool.
