|  Andromeda Strain (original) Viroid refs Can anyone point me to reference pics of the viroid from the original Andromeda Strain movie? Specifically, I want the electron microscope pics. ALso, is there anyone who knows how they got the "folding/unfolding" effect in the animation of it growing? Thanks! |

| It was explained in the DVD extras: I think Dykstra mentioned some geometric puzzle toy that they used straight or as a basis to build its own model, motorizing its parts. Also, they had a crude electronic frame buffer to do some image manipulation so that the thing looked like the output of some lab instrument. I'll check the DVD later to see if I can be more precise.  |

| Animaniac - You are a god among men! Thanks!   juanxer - I have been doing a lot of searching and found a vague reference to something called a "vsynth", which does realtime animations from a video camera. Apparently AS was the first to use it. Thanks everybody!! |
