Resurrecting my inner life...

Hi guys,

Thought it was about time I stepped forward and said Hi to everyone.

"Hi"

LOL...

Of course, I should say more than that. Well, I live in Australia, and have grown up with a love for Science Fiction. It seems, joining a website like this and submitting art of this kind was destiny. I have been meaning to explore digital art in this genre for a VERY long time, but have never found the time or inspiration needed to snap myself out of my mundane existence - and do it.

I was given the DVD box set of the Battlestar Galactica, the original series for Christmas, and on viewing the show again, I began to get in touch with my childhood love of the Colonial Viper MKI. As a child, I was in love with this machine, and would draw it endlessly - dreaming of a day when I could sit in the cockpit and fly one, not to mention engaging a formation of Cylon Raiders. How exciting - what an experience.

But, reality is very different, and life turned out to be so so...

For me, In order to find that feeling again, I was inspired to get back into drawing the beautiful ship, and using the skills I had developed in my boring adult life. At least this way, I can enjoy myself - in fact, since creating my first piece, I have engaged this hobby with gusto. It is revitalising my inner self, my lost child within. I'm getting my spirit back.

Thanks guys, for bringing me back to life - your artwork here is exceptional, stunning, inspirational. I am excited to be here.

Best regards,

jase

Hi Jase,
I know what you mean, although for me it was more the Liberator, and battlescenes like Wrath of Khans. Doing what you love is the best way to get good at something imo.

I'm new here as well, see you on the forums.

Cheers
Kageo.
