Greetings forumites.

I'm currently knee-deep in my A-level revision and exams.

However, I have been looking for a hobby other than play computer games all day.

I've tried many things, and I'd greatly appreciate help and advice in this modeling stuff. I have no experience whatsoever, and I doubt it's that easy. I just want something I will enjoy doing.

What are your interests? Scifi shows/books/games etc?
do you have a background in art?

3D art isn't easy, but unlike other art forms it can be fairly cheap to get into. Granted some 3d programs are quite expensive, but there are many free programs so you never have to buy paints, or paper or other supplies.

Check this thread out for loads of useful places to start.
and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions

My interests? Well sci-fi is a certainty. :P

I've seen both some of Stargate SG1 and all of Stargate Atlantis, and I have to say I prefer Atlantis. *prepares for flaming*

I've also seen some of Star Trek, all the films, and Star Wars. I've never seen any Battle Star Galactica though, and only a tad amount of Babalyon 5.

Anyways, I've had an interest in art, but talent seems to avoid the likes of me. I've never been any good at it. I just want to learn.

So no, no background in art.

I do like to read quite a few books, and I'm subscribed to the PC Gamer magazine. I play a lot of PC Games, mostly Team Fortress 2 recently.

Thanks for the welcome and the link. I'll spend my free time sifting through it.

EDIT: I also play piano, and am currently learning for Grade 7.
