[quote=Coolhand]Its nice to see that someones worked in 3d for a long time and is still so enthusiastic about it. seems like an unusual workflow to model in max and texture in lw, do you find texturing easier in lw or is it simply easier to convert before texturing?

I texture in LW just because it's a smoother flow, seeing as how I final in LW. And let's face it, fPrime ROCKS!!! As far as I'm concerned, this plugin belongs in the 'magic' category.

I'd love to post some of the stuff that I'm working on for "Eureka" but my NDA says "No Way!" Lots of set extensions and other really fun stuff.

More Andromeda Stuff

Here's a look at some of the work I did for the final episodes of Season Four, "The Dissonant Interval." And before anybody starts squeeling some Freudian malady, the script called for "an asteroid-based space colony, cylindrical, approximately 24 kms long and 8 kms wide." Ergo, yet another space phallus.

Regardless, it was an interesting build. Viva la Greeble! Hope you like.

Tom, is there any chance you could show us some decent views of Nietzschean warships?

Nietzschean Ships

Here's a few of the refined, re-modelled and re-textured Nietzschean warships.

In the final epsiode of the series, we had a huge battle that required hundreds of Nietzschean ships to engage the Andromeda. The models had not be used in over two seasons and were in desparate need of attention, especially since they were rushed in the first place. The mission: lower the poly count but amp up the textures.

i didn't realise andromeda used greeble plugin so much... i guess that station was built in a hurry. I love the destroyer, and the err, destroyer - i think your last one is mis-labelled. great curvy designs and texturing though i've never been able to watch more than 5 minutes of andromeda so i've never seen them in action, shame.

btw, you really should post them in the 3D art gallery, a lot more members will see the work.

Maybe if I can correctly label them. I guess I shouldn't be in such a rush, but I had a coupla minutes. You're right. It's supposed to be a fighter.

And yeah, greeble and me, we go way back...

Welcome! Another member of our tv-show-and feature-film-3d-making-people group.

Yeah, those NDA's suck big time, specially if there stuff you desperately want to show others because you know they all gonna like it. I have to say, all of your meshes look better in those beauty shots then they ever did in the show. I could never stand andromeda really, which is a shame because some of the designs might have worked out very well in a different context.
