What you're asking for is someone to build you a Nova Class 'like' ship, not 'The' Nova Class, current legalese I believe is about a 2% difference will get you away with it. Otherwise most car manufacturers would be sueing each others asses of since most modern cars look alike.

You can also get away with it based on you paying for the modellers time, not the model.

Well, he IS technically asking for a Nova-Class ship... the U.S.S. Rhode Island version... granted his final model may have a different name slapped onto its hull, but it still is a Nova.

Al's work is awesome... all you have to do is look at the Miranda-Class ship he did a while back to realize the true caliber of his work. True feature-quality.

If you are not happy with the current model, I would SERIOUSLY, and I mean SERIOUSLY take Biotech or Al up on their offer... both are supremely good modellers, and if Biotech will really do it for $300.00, you have no idea how good of an offer that is.

Also, I did not notice anyone else here asking this question... is this model for a game or a fanfilm, or your own rendered scenes?

*Checks exchange rate* Hmm, about £1300 for a movie quality mesh... Wait, I'm never going to be able to render more than a frame of that standard...

How much do people charge for a model if the blueprints are readily available and they just want one which is roughly equivalent in quality to Lt Rileys lovely Phobos?

Look on the bright side, I can't get any worse!

Apparently I'm referenced to a few times here. I didn't even know this forum existed. I didn't know my mesh was good at all. LOL Check your PM lonewriter.
