Travis: Newcastle Academy 2007

Hey everyone,

Went to see Travis perform at Newcastle Carling Academy on monday night with Kate- was a cracking show all round. The guys were great hosts and really sporting for photos, the venue was well behaved, and a good night was had by all.

Hopefully this'll be the first of a few pics from the night- I've got a few that have come out really well, but I've been laid low with a bug this week and not had a chance to get to them all and convert/shrink them yet.

Pics were taken from the second row standing, with my trusty Canon S70 in Canon RAW, ISO400. Apparently the door policy for Cameras is "if the lens is removable then its a pro camera and barred". Fortunate for me then.

Enjoy.

Nice pic, looks like one you would find on the middle page of an album booklet! I used to be a big fan of Travis some years back, saw them at a couple of festivals, they where a good laugh, telling jokes and amusing stories! Hope to see some more!

Thanks Hal. A few people I've shown the pic to have said the same thing. Not bad considering it's a snapshot from the crowd.

Just a note: That pic is straight from the camera- apart from converting it to .jpg and shrinking it down so it fits under the SFM upload limit I've not done any work on it.

Feeling better today, so had a good look at that pic and decided to work on the slightly jaundiced look the band have- mainly due to the predominantly yellow-tint in the lighting, but also down to the camera's metering. Hopefully this looks a bit more natural.
