Meeting legends...

Well..when i got back from BC with Chriss and Hobbes i was invited to meet in person Lee Stringer and Ron Thorton...now for those who have been living under a rock for the last 15 years, Ron is basicaly responsible for taking CG to Sci-Fi on TV. he was the lead SFX on Babylon 5. now for Lee Stringer, you know him for Firely and BSG from Zoic and also a LOT of trek stuff from DS9 and Voyager. BUt he basicaly came up with BSG's style of FX, until it was messed up realy.

SO, i got a call from lee telling me he was in Vermont with Ron working on Ron's plane, SO, got in my car and drove to meet them, a short 1.15hrs drive to the airport in Vermont, but got stock 3.5hrs at the Customs. Those SOBs were stopping EVERYONE..that was JUST nuts.

Anyway..a few picts i took there.

When you love a pet, loosing it is like loosing a part of your soul. I lost part of mine on Feb 12 2008. Never will it be the same again.

why do you always have your arms crossed on fotos? It's like "don't touch me".

hey- they work with computers, they're too cool to just leave their arms dangling.

Are you a pilot yourself Al, or just an enthusiast? Friend of mine is an engineer at CAE, installing/testing $30M flight simulators, and is always flying around locally.

We're going to go to the Quebec Airshow next summer I'm pretty sure. We were there about 4 years ago. Saw the Thunderbirds, and a boat-load of other cool stuff (F-18s, A-10s, C-5 Galaxy, etc). Can't get enough of this!!

Tell us: They called you to invite you into some super secret, uber cool new SFX project didnt they. Go on, admit it!!
