Abendrot

Some shots I took earlier,

unfortunately some were made in ISO800, didn't remember I had set it to that ... quite ****ish. But anyways, here are some of them:

Cheers.

Nice conditions mate, well exposed- a tripod and lower ISO might have been better, but they look fine at the resolution they're at here.

Man, I hope the weather in europe holds out a wee bit longer- not long till my holidays.

i agree with Greg here. Nice shots, but your forground is completly black. some details in the trees would make it even better. in the good old days to get the prefect shot, we would expose a frame for the sky, then one for the trees, and one for the foreground object if there was any. Then under the enlarger, mix all 3 negatives. now with Photoshop, what took 6 hrs to process takes about 10 minutes.. it's not a cheat...since it was done that way in the silver age..

When you love a pet, loosing it is like loosing a part of your soul. I lost part of mine on Feb 12 2008. Never will it be the same again.

Well, you're right about the ISO. I did the shots from my father's bureau which is all the way up in the attic. My tripod was in the cellar at the time ... so no tripod, I'm much too lazy for that.

*e* As a side note ... I actually wanted to foreground to be black, that's why it is.

I like the foreground better completely black. It makes the sky more impressive.

A translation for the title would be sunset afterglow by the way. But I'm sure everybody guessed that

See, that's the thing with photography- it's quite hard to actually get it "wrong" when you take a shot. Different people have different opinions. Personally, I think it would have been nice to see both your single exposures, and a composition of exposures together side by side, but then that takes away from the "pleasing snapshot" appeal a lot of photos have.

Yeah, these pictures would just be ridiculous being HDRIs.

Mighty nice as they are though.

You guys said you wanted to see the foreground, too. Well, as the pics where shot in RAW I played around a little... Single-RAW-HDR comes to mind.

Anyways, I came up with this. You see the ugly buildings, yes? That's exactly why I wanted the foreground black.
