Phototime ... Summer's coming!

I know that photography isn't exactly much frequented around here. Still, just felt like posting some of my recent pictures. That's at least something then, 3D has been... slow ... for the past months...

Needless to say there are more but I think that's enough for one posting...

Nice work Darkensau.

You should get the pic of the Key in the lock submitted to a hosting library- it's just the sort of thing companies love for presentations and documents. You take that one with the Tamron 90mm?

We need more photography places that don't have an average member age of three thousand- there's loads of exciting photography out there thats sneaking under the radar because the traditional places are too set in their ways.

That is just so true. Way too many forums being centered around photography are poulated by old fags who do nothing but propagate antiquated rules of how to compose a picture or which brand to choose ...

And yeah, except for the one with the swans they where all done with the Tamron. The swans where shot with the Sigma 100-300 f/4 (with 1.4x Teleconverter) ...

Still, 420mm is not really enough for birds... if you don't want to go all nerdy and use a tarning tent that is.

The macros are pretty cool, especially the one before the swans. But my favorite is the key!

Well, Nikon did a 1200-1700mm - THAT is a zoom.

The Sigma's one hell of a lens, too. 2.8 at 500mm ... every bird photographer probably has wet dreams about this.

No, it's a telescope.

True, pity it's only an FD mount lens.

If I remember correctly, the crazy boys at Nikon used to have some pretty outlandish glass on the run in the film days, before they realised they were no match for Canon and got back to producing consumer cameras and kit lenses.

Seriously though, what was that monster white lens they made? That thing seriously did look like a telescope.

Well, that certainly was. The 2000mm f/11 reflex Nikkor. One of the rarest Nikon lenses ever ...

Well, the real and unrivaled bigboy comes from Canon though. 5200mm, f/14. Min. focus distance of a mere 120m ...

page10

(The 1200-1700 is not FD mount since it's Nikon... it's the F-Mount. Which means it can be used on pretty much every Nikon camera... )
