Browse down for info! </edit> While I was browsing Starry Night looking for the next total lunar ecplipse (03-2007) I remember having done this picture back in '04. ![]() At the time, I had a relatively cheap 3.0MP Fuji camera, and it was cooooold outside (had to run in and out every 15 minutes to snap a picture). None-the-less, I think it turned out pretty good. |

We got another foot of snow today, and they're forecasting snow showers all weekend long. Anyone who wants to give it a shot though, can start looking skyward at 5:44 ET on saturday. Luckily, there is another one August 28th of this year. Maybe I'll have better luck then. |

| "Spooky" Mulder | Hey C_Doc, i got a great view of the eclipse last night, but i only got the chance to get a few rushed photographs as i had just got home from 2 days in Scotland for a funural, and was completely shattered heh. I nearly broke my back hauling my telescope gear and camera out into the garden at 10 o'clock last night. I will post some later, but i bet yours would of been better Thanks for the info on the next one too |

Just looked like a rat had taken a bite out of the cheese ![]() I read on a few sites, that even as the moon was rising in North America, it would have already been in full eclipse anyways, so I wouldn't have been able to get the full translation on film. (similar to my previous pics) Look forward to seeing your photos. |

I know it's pretty last-minute, but there's going to be another total lunar eclipse tonight, that's supposed to be entirely visible to north and south america, and western europe. Total eclipse is around 10:01-10:51 PM EST (3:01-3:51AM GMT) so get your telescopes/cameras/alarm clocks handy! Also, this is supposed to be the last one until December 21st, 2010. <edit> Final edit uploaded. It was cold has hell (?) agains this year! -4F/-20C but that didnt stop me. Fujifilm S9000 on a tripod with exposures every 10-15 minutes from 1/320 to 3 seconds in length. So far, the image has made the local radio station's website, and been posted on Sky&Telescope's website </edit> |
