| martial arts dojo +landscape This is actually a project I finished several years ago, so I apologize for some minor damage and the dust that is now inseparable from the lawn. This was built in 1:48 scale from my own original plans. (The guy inside is not to scale, but he's not too far off.) The buildings are mostly balsa wood, joined with pins and stained with strong coffee (you can really smell this model, even after all these years) . The roof is removable and inside you can see the stairs down, a sitting area, training mat with weapons rack, and a ladder up to a balcony on the opposite side. under the stairs, panels hide a bathroom, and a workout area is below the balcony, complete with a hanging heavy bag (can't get a good picture of it, though, it's pretty well hidden unless you shake the model and make it swing). The landscaping is done with plaster ground and rocks, with railroad modeling foliage and "hard" water in the stream. The "bamboo" is plastic leaves glued onto tiny plastic pipes and painted green. The tree in the center of the yard was entirely hand-built, with a paper-wrapped wire trunk and branches and moss glued on for leaves. |
