Thumbs up Kuhn Global BLUE SCREEN - NABOO STARSHIP built by REL

Here is another piece from the Richard Long (REL) Collection!!!

Richard asked me to take some shots of the Naboo Starship the other day since I had yet to do so of that piece in front of the real blue screen. I was honored to do so...

Remember, since the chroming technique has shown to be challenging thus far, Richard decided to make this beastie look as if it were aged. Like the MF in ANH did after years of service.

He did a GREAT job!!! Just look at that weathering technique!!!

As usual, you may do what you wish with these photos.

Thank you for looking!

about half an hour with this one, didn't turn out as good as the ktinga because it was harder to make the lighting and backgound match, I tried to add some of my own shine and remove some that was on the original image, but my painting skills are shizer so this was the best I could do

are you running your images through some sort of filter? because I've never seen a bluescreen image with such uniform colour - like the ktinga this was amazingly easy to key out

I pity the fool!

Indeed! Every blue screen photograph I do has a small bit of color imperfection... (lighter in some areas than others) so I choose the a point of the blue screen closest to the model's hull as sample, and then make the entire screen uniform. It has been only done in my most recent photos, and it is indeed cheating a bit, but still done with the REAL blue screen color that was original in the photo I shot. Truth be told, with the lighting I am now using, that almost doesn't really need to be done to actually BE uniform. But I do it anyway for a more smooth look. Plus, it makes the stand removal that much more unnoticeable to my eye! LOLOLOLOLOL With better lighting knowledge... and further experience, I hope to eliminate the filters all together. Some of my earlier blue screen photos are not filtered at all and many of my early trials have variations in color. My largest problem right now is that I am photographing these models about 10 to 15 feet away from the screen.... and I still get the reflection wash of the blue on the models that Richard produces. This is mainly due to my being amature, but has a little to do with a personal painting technique of his in adding a bit of metallic silver in everything he paints for a bit realism in person. It really works well for personal viewing, but has been challenging for my photography skills... or rather lack of! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Here is an example of my photography without the filter...

And the exact photo of what you composited above before editing... with the natural color of the blue screen intact.

... so... whatever you guys think is best is what I will do. Just let me know.

Beautiful composite btw! Thank you sir!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL..... it is pretty kewl isn't it? I love this stuff! It's sooooo FUN!!! In the beginning, just months ago, I used blue screen paper as the background, (like many photographers do, but with more expensive lighting), and then I found a professional industry company called eeFX and ordered the appropriate material and size I wanted at a VERY reasonable price!! THAT made a HUGE difference! I went from having purple-ish looking background to the beautiful blue that you now see. Then I added the BLUE 500 watt photos floods... and... bang! The look became reality! LOLOLOLOLOL

I REALLY like what you artists do with it all...from the artists creating the models to the artist compositing...... AWESOME!!!

Thanks again for that KILLER composite above! As a matter of fact, it is your composite of the K'Tinga that adorns my desktop wallpaper currently!

I just can't enough of all this great stuff!
