| Studio Scale Power Loader Here is a link to some progress photos of the 1:4 scale power loader from aliens that myself and a friend have been working on. It was fully modeled in Rhino 3d and rapid prototyped. The progress has been slow due to work schedule but its getting there. Enjoy Studio Scale Power Loader - New Pic 3-14-08 - Page 10 - The RPF |

| 'Studio scale' often simply means that it is of sufficient detail that it could be used in a studio without looking out of place. A lot of props in the background of a studio scene are not built full-scale - they just need to look full scale when filmed. |
| No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team. Personal website (updated, Mar 2007) :: Industrial-meshes.com :: Professional website (Updated, Feb 2007) | |

| There was a 1:1 prop that Sigorny Weaver was in and there was a 1:4 Stop motion version for the wide shots and the fall into the air lock. We are recreating the 1:4 scale version. |

Studio Scale refers to the size of the miniature used for filming. If its anything less than 1:1, its a minature. What Sphynx is saying is correct in that sometimes on first unit sets we will build a miniature or minatures for background dressing to cut costs or reduce the amount of set needed to complete a shot, however the level of detail is determined by budget and time, not to keep it from looking out of place. We allways strive to get the maximum amount of detail we can within the schedule and budget. The most common use is in 2nd unit visual effects shots such as Tie fighters, x-wings, The Enterprise, burning buildings, explosions, etc... | |
