WIP - Scratchbuilt Advanced Whitestar This is my scratchbuilt model of the advanced whitestar. the cg model/mesh was built by Nadab Goksu who use to run eon3d.com. mr. goksu created this model in response to kier's whitestar, he didn't want to make another clone. unfortunately his site is now down due to people not referencing his works. i don't know which online group he belongs now or being active to. to honour him i am designating this model as: Class: Long range heavy assault monitor Type: Advanced Whitestar (AWS) Name: Nadab Goksu Here is his model for reference (Nadab Goksu's images) ![]() top view ![]() bottom view ![]() side view ![]() front view ![]() back view ![]() and to my model AWS: Nadab Goksu here are a few images of the early stages (used my cell phone camera) ![]() i use the ribbing/lofting method to start this model ![]() ![]() i tried capturing every stage of the modelling but unfortunately i got too exited and i skipped taking pictures when i was applying foam. so the images jump from ribs to be completely covered with putty. ![]() ![]() here's the result after some sanding session ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() anyways i'll post more pics in my next update. and by the way, i am not too sure if this physical forum is for finish models only or can it be for a wip model as well? i choose this forum for this model because i think it's appropriate since this model is based on a 3d mesh. cheers, rolly.

here's some more pic of the model. i started this model with seven parts: upper fuselage, bottom front fuselage, bottom back fuselage/shuttle bay, forward weapon array/sensory, left and right gravimetric tails and left and right engine pods. here are some pic of partially assembled aws. ![]() here's a shot of the shuttle bay area. i like the design of having the shuttle bay underneath compare to the top set up and completely expose on the original whitestar scheme. ![]() the assembly consist of the top fuselage, bottom front fuselage, bottom back fuselage and gravimetric tail on the table. ![]() ![]() and turning the focus on just the top fuselage. it took me quite a while to shape the top fuselage. ![]() here's the close up of the front. ![]() ![]() ![]() i kind of deviated on the from the detail on the front section. the general shape is the same but the details are a bit different. i still need quite a lot of work to do. ![]() anyway i don't have any pic of the other parts on their own except for as seen on the partial assembly. got too excited again i guess. anyways my next post will have partial assembly of the whole aws model. cheers. rolly

hey guys, here's another wip dump of my model. for this update, the left and right grav tails have been glued and fused to the top fuselage. the other parts are held in place by double sided tape and the part that's missing is the forward weapon array/sensory. ![]() looking down on the model and fixed the upper fuselage detail - the arch thingy that has been elevated. ![]() here's a pic that shows the relative size of the model, the ruler is 16 inches long. the model is measured to be just over 18 inches in length and under 11 inches in width. ![]() tail on view, showing how the tails were mounted to the fuselage and sanded down to flow nicely. ![]() looking from behind exposing the shuttle bay which clearly requires more work ![]() looking from the front ![]() side view ![]() another view of the front ![]() another side view of the assembly ![]() this version of the whitestar have the main guns mounted from the bottom and here's a pic of it. right now it's still in the making ![]() here's another view ![]() here's a view of the underneath ![]() and view of the top ![]() here's a few more shots ![]() ![]() there are a few details that i could not satisfy. the gun pods under the wings - i omitted them and turn it into a sensor domes, the ribs connecting the tails to the fuselage - there should be four or five but i can only fit three. there are other detail that i am having hard time duplicating so i improvised instead. mr. goksu mentioned in his original description that this model is about 150 meters and the whitestar is supposed to be 120 meters long. people on the net have conflicting size references of the whitestar - other whitestar size is about 450 meters long. so right now i am modelling the inside's general layout. i am using autocad mechanical desktop to do it... i know its not the best software for modelling but just using it get a general layout view. with this i can determine the scale of the model. i tried doing it in google sketch up but i keep on screwing up and for some reason i like mechanical cause i can track all the units. it's kind of nice that there was no interior design of this model so i can actually play around with the size. well cheers for now, rolly

here's the model partially assembled. the top and bottom front fuselage and the forward array sensors are glued together. i use a red marker and wrote on the model the paint scheme design i am going to use. here's the bottom view of the model. the forward array sensors, the bottom front guns and other details are visible. the domes on the wing - i am still contemplating if i should leave them like that or stick with the weapon pods. i am also contemplating if i shoud redo the 6 connectors - connecting the tail to the underside of the upper wing, 3 on each sides. i think of making them thinner and make five of them instead of the three fat ones that i already have installed. ![]() here's a shot from behind, ![]() here's a side view of the model. i am planning to display the model in simmilar position but with lesser angle of attack. ![]() the following images are not mine but these are my references. this pic shows the schematic of the advance whitestar. if you compare my model i think it's almost quite there. ![]() this is the paint scheme i am planning to follow. ![]() and another view. ![]() cheers
