Beginning Biker Scout Model

I just purchased a model kit of a speeder bike and biker scout. I have posted a picture of the box because I haven't started yet but I will soon post a gallery of my timeline of progress.

This company rates it's models either:
1 simple, consists of primarily clicking pieces into place.
2 harder, requires paint glue and triple the parts of a 1
3 hardest, contains hundreds of parts and many different textures and paint styles.

This model is rated a 2.

What can I do to add a worn down or broken effect to the speeder?
