a) it's not a render as nhall pointed out.....

and

b) The colour scheme is pretty much identical to the CGI model from Nemesis. The blotchyness is a fractal pattern used for the base of the model.

Yes that thing is a wonderful peice of craftmanship. I honestly think he would have done well with the Trek model makers.

Just 2 weeks ago I ordered the Polar Lights build of the refit Enterprise from TMP also produced by The FX Company. I'm glad to have seen your photos of the E. They sure do good work.
