I think I will, have you seen the Baneblade that's just popped up for C4D? It's awesome.

Providing we can effectively convert to the same program and get soem textures done (and to be honest, some of the models for 40K are that good we'd only need procedurals and a minimum of actual texturing to make them look good enough), a demo reel isn't too unfeasable

I like the caption on it, it's very true. It also leads me to think about how you could make decent marines for a movie, is CG these days good enough so that you can have CG bodies/armour and stick human heads on, or would it be best to build things like this and do forced perspective and clever shooting/compositing a la Lord of the Rings (among others)

Be creative with it, don't try and just model the ship itself, look at the relevant artwork, 40k concept drawings, battlefleet gothic art, etc.
